Tactical SATCOM Systems

Windmill has developed a unique SatCom receive suite for warfighters needing reliable, portable connection to the Global Broadcast System (GBS). Practical uses include reception of location and situational data, last pass satellite data, real time weather conditions, Predator and UAV video feeds, and much more.

Working under an AFRL sponsored Small Business Initiative Research Contract initially awarded in 2001. With our partner AntennaSys, Windmill has successfully developed a unique, lightweight, rugged, portable GBS Receive Suite (SPRS). Our design / development process is highly focused on using requirements-driven design, as dictated by the customer / end-users.

AFRL has recently recognized Windmill's accomplishments as a "SBIR success story."

Our GBS Portable Receive Suite (PRS) solution is presently available as the AN/PRS-11 Suitcase Portable Receive Suite.

The system is currently available while work is continuing on additional design enhancements such as an Ultra-Light Weight Rucksack Portable System, an Advanced Power Module, Full Dual Band Capability (Ka/Ku) and a Ka band Transmit/ Receive Portable version to work with the Latest WGS Satellites.
