The growing reality of a Global Information Grid and the advent of Semantic Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles has highlighted the need for understanding and characterizing information assets in the enterprise. All information exchanged in the course of pursuing a mission is talked about using a community’s shorthand; its vocabulary. This constitutes the labels on the informational assets. Windmill is in the forefront of helping Communities of Interest document the language used so intuitively in casual conversation so that we can teach our IT machinery to process requests and responses without human interpretation and coding. Our team of vocabulary development experts (ontologists) is adept at engaging domain Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in this work.
