We have recently developed and are now producing a soldier-sized system to access and exploit Global Broadcast System intelligence in combat. Windmill provides logistics support to the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for the training of screeners, air marshals and flight deck officers. This position reports to the Production Program Manager of our Hollis, NH facility. The Buyer/Planner will manage and perform all material planning, purchasing, receiving, stocking, kitting and inventory functions. This individual contributor is responsible for MRP data entry, and inventory accuracy. Collaborate with team members and suppliers to insure material availability, continuous improvement, and cost reduction.

CANDIDATE SELECTED WILL BE SUBJECT TO A SECURITY INVESTIGATION AND MUST MEET ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCESS TO CLASSIFIED INFORMATION. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN TO APPLY. The individual in this position will be a key, hands-on contributor and will:

• Manage and perform the planning, purchasing, tracking, inventory and kitting of all production and prototype materials.
• Review production schedules and related information to define the material plan, order, track and expedite materials.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery with suppliers to achieve best possible pricing.
• Prepares purchase orders, bid requests or requisitions.
• Determine inventory needs and maximizes inventory turns, controls inventory rotation and organizes materials for physical inventories.
• Conducts off-site visits and inspections with suppliers as required.

• Compile/maintain material inventory, in process production reports, & status and location of materials.
• Monitor and enhance supplier performance.
• Implement cost reduction strategies.
• Understand, interpret, and analyze ECO’s to determine material impacts.
• Enters and updates data in MRP system.
• Verify data accuracy and maintain MRP system (parts numbers, BOMs, Part Costs).
• Assist in setting up part numbers for purchased items as needed, including: pricing, costing, lead time, supplier, and MRP planning information.
• Ensure that procurement records are maintained to document items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
 

Experience • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in purchasing and/or supply chain management.
• Demonstrated planning, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent negotiation, verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven cost reduction track record.
 
Education BA/BS degree preferred
