Why We Do This

Windmill is extremely proud to count a large portion of our membership as veterans of all services and eras. Some of our members have either served in the Iraqi Freedom effort or have sons who have seen service there.

This history of military service produces a strong commitment to the men and women of our Armed Forces serving our country around the world.

Windmill members, on occasion, hold “Touch of Home” sessions in which we prepare “Care Packages” for our deployed troops.

The company itself has a long-standing policy of contributing a meaningful portion of our annual earnings to charities that directly support the military. Two in particular, are The Fisher House, and Fallen Heroes.

For more information on Windmill's charitable giving, please review our Charitable Giving Guidelines.

Recently, one of our members had a son injured in Iraq. He was subsequently airlifted to an Army hospital in Landsteuhl, Germany. It was very touching and gratifying to us all that our member and his wife were able to stay in an attached Fisher House, enabling an extended visit with their wounded son.
